Differential learning is an implicit motor learning method. Through differential learning, students are challenged to find different solutions to a movement problem. This is done by offering as much variation, also called noise, in the learning situations. This would enhance the learning process. Differential learning seems to be a more effective learning method than traditional learning.
Differential learning can be perfectly applied in physical education. By offering more noise in the lessons, students learn to solve various movement problems. Applying differential learning in lessons can give students the opportunity to become (co) owner of their learning process. This shifts the role of the teacher from instructor to architect of exercise situations.
